Persuasive Writing

I was learning to write a persuasive piece of writing. I can think of lots of reasons why Ice-Cream is better than chocolate. It was easy persuade the reader to think that Ice-Cream is better than chocolate because Ice-Cream is very yummy !

Telling Time

I was learning to understand 24 hour time and write the time in numbers and words. I can read the time on the clock and write it in digital time then in words. It was easy because I had already learnt to tell the time.

Art Exhibition

Antonyms and Synonyms

I was learning to recognise a range of language features. I can identify different language features and I understand the meaning of different language features. It was tricky to find antonyms and synonyms because we were unsure of the meanings of some of the words.

Acrostic Poems

I was learning to write an acrostic poem. I can write an acrostic poem about Halloween. It was easy to write an acrostic poem because there is lots of things we can say about the topic; Halloween.

I was learning to Write a Narrative. I can describe the characters and settings. It was easy because  the picture prompts helped me to write my story.

The Builder's Pet

I was learning to make and justify inferences. I can identify and describe what the author wanted me to feel, think about or see in the text. It was easy because I read the book carefully.

Halve It!

I was  learning to find what half of the number was. I can divide by two. It was easy because we were only splitting the number into two groups.

Word Mania

I was learning to make words using different letters.

I can make lots of words using the letter provided. 

It was easy because there was lots of letters to choose from.

Chinese Cultural Lessons

Contractions

I was learning to make contractions. I can make two longer words into one shorter word. It was easy because the new word had parts of the two words in it.

Punctuation Marks

I was learning to use the correct punctuation marks in our sentences. I know when to use each punctuation mark. It was easy because we have been practicing using punctuation.

Making Inferences

I was learning to make inferences.I can identify and describe what the author wanted me to feel,think about or see in the text. It was tricky because it was not always easy to find the clues in the text.

Place Value

I was learning about place value. I can identify how many hundreds,tens and ones. It was easy because the video we watched in class explained place value well.

Skip Counting Fowards and Backwards in 10's

I was learning to skip count forwards and backwards in 10's. I can skip count forwards and backward in 10's starting from any number. It was easy to skip count in 10's because I did this last year.

Making Connections

I was leaning to make connections. I can use personal experiences to connect ideas in the text (text to self).It was easy to make connections because Grandad in the story was similar to my Grandad.

Vowel Sounds

I was learning about the short and long vowel sounds. I can tell the difference between the long and short vowel sounds. It was easy to tell the difference between the vowel sounds.

Summarising Information

I was learning about summarising information. I know how to summarise information.It was easy to summarise information because i understood what the book was about.

Skip Counting

I was learning about Skip Counting in 2's and 5's. I learnt how to Skip Count in 2's and 5's. It was easy because i learnt it before.
